A quick clarification regarding the AntBelt G1 laser power:
The 2.5W, 6W, and 12W specifications refer to the actual optical output power of the laser, not the electrical input power.
Optical power is the laser energy that reaches the material and directly determines engraving and cutting performance. Electrical input power includes the energy used by the laser module, electronics, cooling, and other components, so it is naturally higher but is not the most meaningful measurement for users comparing real laser performance.
In simple terms: our 12W model delivers 12W of actual laser optical power.
Thank you to Rob for raising this helpful question!
You’re welcome, does that mean I’ll get a free extra unit? ;0) LOL
Haha, not quite a free extra unit, Rob! 😄
But honestly, at the current Kickstarter pricing, two units can still cost less than the expected future retail price of one unit.
We’ve set the campaign pricing this aggressively because we’d really like more makers to experience galvo laser technology and help us build an active AntBelt community from the beginning.
Thank you again for your support and for keeping the conversation fun! 😊
